Our
Polo Club is situated in the south of Spain 15 minutes from Sotogrande’s beaches and
surrounded by the biggest and wildest nature reserve of Spain, the Alcornacales
park.
The Polo Club is located in a unique environment considered one of the ten
best wonders of Europe. Its subtropical microclimate is not found anywhere else in
Europe and is known as Europe’s only existing jungle where you can find animals and
plants such as Laurisilva that are the last of the epoch of the dinosaurs.
Our Polo group consists of mainly Spanish and Argentine workforce but is being run
by an English director. The aim of the club is to promote an Argentine Hacienda in
Europe.
· History
The name of Three Roses (3 roses) comes from a legend during the
time in which the Arabs dominated Andalusia some 700 years ago. In those times there
were many small Kingdoms that were constantly at war. The King of this area (The
King of Jimena) lost the battle against the terrible Tarik and was feared for his
daughters lives.
So
he took them (3 roses) and hid them in the farm where horses were bred. There the
three girls (3 roses) grew-up safely and as time passed the younger of the daughters
married the new king’s son.
On the foundations of the house where the princesses lived a new farm has been built
and this is known as Three Roses Polo Farm; It is a tradition that all the owners of
this house have a duty that is to look after the rose bushes in remembrance of the
princesses.
Due to the perfect climate in this area it allows the facilities
of the Polo Club to be enjoyed throughout the year. Your stay will be enhanced by
the beauty of the surrounding countryside including the Hozgartanta river that flows
through the Nature reserve of the Alcornacles. The Nature reserve is over 40,000
hectares.
All this is just 20 minutes from Gibraltar airport.
